La Gomera, one of the youngest western Canary Islands from a geological point of view, is an enchanted place where time seems to stand still. The island’s landscape is an intricate maze of valleys, gorges and canyons dotted with basalt rock formations of all shapes and sizes.

Once in the forest, take a deep breath. Feel the fresh, oxygenated, pure air nourishing your body and mind; the therapeutic effect is almost instantaneous. The laurel forest is an ancient mystical forest that can inspire a feeling of deep connection with nature and the world that once was.

Full activity description

The tour begins with pick-up from your hotel in Tenerife and transfer to the port of Los Cristianos on the day selected during the online booking process. You will then board the ferry with the other participants for a quick 50-minute journey to La Gomera.

Once in La Gomera, you will explore the most spectacular sites and viewpoints while listening to the guide’s detailed explanations. La Gomera offers breathtaking scenery of peaks and gorges reminiscent of a scene from the Jurassic Park films, forged over centuries by volcanic activity.

The tour continues to the heart of the laurel forest, or cloud forest, an extraordinary and unspoilt example of an ancient ecosystem found in only a few other places in the world. The laurel forest has beautiful evergreen and deciduous trees up to 30 metres tall, mosses, ferns and intricate canopies that allow little light to filter through. The area belongs to the Garajonay National Park and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986.

During the included lunch stop, you will have the opportunity to watch a demonstration of the Silbo Gomero whistling language. Silbo is a peculiar way of communicating, exclusive to La Gomera, considered by UNESCO to be a masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity.

Changes and cancellations

• Clients may change the date of their booking with a minimum notice of 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the service. In case of non-availability on the selected date, the amount paid will be refunded minus any cancellation fees, using the same payment method.
